Questions daycare owners ask us.
A few answers about services, monthly bookkeeping, tax support and working with Little Books.
Do you only work with childcare providers?
Little Books Financial Services is specifically positioned around bookkeeping and tax services for childcare providers, including in-home daycare owners and childcare businesses.
What does monthly bookkeeping include?
Services can include transaction categorization, income and expense recording, bank and credit card reconciliation, month-end close, accuracy review and monthly financial reporting, depending on your engagement.
When do I receive my financial reports?
Prior-month reports are generally delivered between the 7th–15th of each month after the necessary month-end information is received and the books are completed.
Can you help if my books are behind?
Yes. Bookkeeping cleanup can be used to organize historical transactions, reconcile accounts and create a cleaner starting point for ongoing monthly bookkeeping.
Do you offer tax preparation?
Tax preparation and planning support are available based on the services included in your engagement. Tax situations vary, and some matters may require coordination with a CPA, Enrolled Agent or attorney.
Do you provide payroll services?
Little Books Financial Services is focused on bookkeeping and tax preparation/support rather than offering payroll as a standalone service.
What software do you use?
QuickBooks Online can be used for bookkeeping engagements when appropriate. We can discuss your current setup during a consultation.
How do I get started?
Start with a free consultation. We’ll talk about your daycare, your current bookkeeping setup, your goals and what kind of support would make the biggest difference.
Can I send tax documents through the website?
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, bank passwords, credit card numbers or tax documents through ordinary website forms. Little Books can direct you to an appropriate secure document-collection process when needed.
